Veracruz Stone Hacha
Circa 250-950 A.D., carved to depict the head of a man or diety, the figure possibly wearing a mask as suggested by the crenellated borders down either side of the face, showing a tapered median crest, over broad hollowed lidded eye sockets, naturalistic nose and snarling open mouth, a stepped headdress raised behind, remains of red pigment.
