Lot Details
1974 MV Agusta 750S
Registration no. TBV 152
Frame no. 2140575
Engine no. 2140559
Developed from its long line of highly successful multi-cylinder racers, MV Agusta’s first roadster four - a twin-carburettor, 600cc tourer - appeared in 1965. But the public demanded something more exciting from many-times World Champions MV, and the Gallarate manufacturer duly obliged in 1969, upping capacity to 743cc and further boosting maximum power by fitting a quartet of Dell’Orto carburettors to the revised 750 Sport. A high-speed symphony in red, white and blue, the 750S was no lightweight but gave little away in outright performance terms to larger machinery, thanks to its engine’s Grand Prix heritage. Not that many people got to find out for themselves, for the MV was hand made in limited numbers and priced accordingly. This unrestored 750S is presented in excellent original condition having covered a mere 4,166 kilometres from new. The machine incorporates the many improvements (introduced from engine number 2140418) that included a big-valve ’head, ‘hotter’ cams, larger carburettors and Scarab twin front disc brake. Imported from South Africa in 1990 and acquired by the vendor, its sole UK owner, that same year, it has seen only sparing use on a private estate and was last run in November 2004. The machine is offered complete with its original tyres (not fitted) and C&E Form 386 confirming EU duties paid.
