A walnut jewellery box, the moulded and stepped lid with a border of chequer inlay, the sides with raised bevelled panels within conforming chequer inlay, on a chamfered black mould and with ebony escutcheon, the interior fitted with three trays (later varnished), the brass lid stays with file decorated edges, the lock by Hobbs & Co., the steel key with faceted bow, 38cm wide, 28cm deep, 24cm high.
