- This is the first appearance of 'The Waste Land'. It was published almost simultaneously (on about 15 October) in The Dial: neither text containing the dedication to Pound or notes. This, the first issue of Eliot's Criterion, also includes Valerie Larbaud's article on Ulysses and contributions by Hermann Hesse and Virginia Woolf. Some 60 later issues of the review are included in the lot.
