Fine illuminated thirteenth-century miniature of an historiated ‘E’ (32 x 25 mm), showing the Lord appearing out of a cloud to speak to Joshua and his people, the leaf with two other marginal decorations, extracted from a Bible illuminated in France during the second half of the thirteenth century and formerly in the collection of Sir Chester Beatty, on vellum, folio (235 x 160 mm), some slight modern tape-stains on verso, Northern France, c.1275
