Footnotes

  • "Exceedingly rare but not unique as stated in the sale catalogue of the Huth Library" (Schwerdt). There is some doubt over the exact date of publication, but it certainly predates The Young Sportsman's Delight and Instructor of 1712, which contains an advertisement for the present work. The angling section comprises some 80 of the 140 pages and is based on the advice contained in some of Markham's earlier general works.
