A late 19th century Continental silver gilt and porcelain flatware service,
apparently unmarked, probably French,
nine forks and eight knives, the shaped porcelain handles with painted reserves depicting varying military soldiers and cavalry, heightened with gilt decoration, the ten table spoons, with silver-gilt fruiting vine handles, all pieces with mermaid junctions joining the tines, blades and bowls, all with engraved shell motifs, (27)
