Provenance: The first item with an old collection label stating it is from 'Sir Theodore Fry's Collection'; the 'salt' with a label on the base stating, 'Rhodes'; the described frog lamp stating that it was 'found in Catacombs', the other that it is from the 'V.F. Lawrence Collection' and a Roman vessel neck fragment that it was 'excavated at Verulanium (St. Albans)'. The lamp found in the Catacombs, the oinochoe, a lamp with the smiling face and the small 'salt' appear on an old list entitled, 'Catalogue of un-earthed curios.', list nos.3, 5, 12 & 9.
