The scene in which the creature bursts out of John Hurt's character, Kane, is certainly one of the most memorable and shocking of the film. In a recent TV poll of all-time horror momemts, this sequence was voted in at No.5.
This lot is the property of Roger Dicken, the creator and operator of both this and the 'Face Hugger' forms of the alien. Dicken entered the film industry in 1964 and his credits include 'Thunderbirds', '2001: A Space Odyssey', 'When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth' and 'The Land That Time Forgot' (for which he was Oscar co-nominee, Best Effects, Special Visual Effects).
