Over a period of eight years Max Dupain photographed all aspects of the construction of the Sydney Opera House. This collection of photographs was printed for Peter Hall, the Governemnt architect who took over as supervisor after J. Utzon's departure from the project. The photographs are preserved in a black solander box with title label "Sydney Opera House by Max Dupain - Peter Hall Collection".
