Contains upwards of 300 photographs and ephemera, comprising numerous regimental groups in various orders of dress, in both India and Great Britain, many captioned and with names, formal posed groups of officers and their families, portraits of officers in 2nd Madras Light Calvary, 5th Dragoon Guards, 13th Hussars, and 75th Foot, etc., topographical views, pen and ink caricatures, and watercolours, pasted recto and verso, often several to a page, various sizes, bookplate of Lt. Maunsell, half morocco, gilt, worn, folio

  • Photographs include officers dressed for duck shooting and hunting, Maunsell and his fellow officers in Bône in Algeria, 2 two-panel panoramas of Bône (1867), Arabs in native dress, British Columbia including a portrait of native American Chief and a group of warriors (1865), views of Egypt, Bangalore, Hyderabad, portraits of jockeys and their mounts, Gibraltar, Pagodas signed in the negative "Bourne & Shepherd" and another by Bourne, Indian rulers and tradespeople, and watercolours of horses, a jockey, five watercolours of Australian interest (three depicting Aboriginals with various weapons).
