DORNEY. A Dutch Commuter Launch
Believed built by Forslund in Holland in 1937, to a design similar to the Scandanavian Pedersen boats. Carvel mahogany on oak timbers interspersed with galvanised angle iron frames. Varnisihed inside and out to the waterline.
Engine: Volvo B20 85PK 4 cylinder petrol. Instrumentation includes ammeter, oil pressure and water temperature gauges, revolution counter.
General arrangement: Foredeck of laid planking, with chrome mooring cleat, fairleads and mushroom ventilator, burgee mast. Three part timber frame windscreen with side frames, starboard section removes for access to foredeck. Aft deck of laid timber with chrome cleat, fairleads and ensign socket. Double doors to cabin with four portlights, upholstered sofa/berths to each side. Stowage lockets forward. Cockpit with wheel steering to port and helm seat, picnic locker behind. Stowage locker and step to starboard, removable central engine box. Aft upholstered bench seat, with access behind for fuel tank and steering quadrant. There is an acrylic canvas cockpit pram hood, with removable rear and side screens on stainless steel irons. Inventory includes mooring spike, fenders, warps, paddle and boathook. Also includes an all-over canvas cover.
