Literature: This globular beaker or squat jar is a remarkable intact survival from the Dark Ages. In form it is almost identical to beakers found in Kent at Wye Down and Faversham (where most of these vessels are believed to have been made), while the decorative scheme occurs on a taller bag beaker also from Faversham, Kent (now in the Ashmolean Museum), cf. Vera Evison, Glass Vessels in England AD 400-1100, in J. Price (ed.), Glass in Britain and Ireland AD 350-1100, British Museum Occasional Paper 127 (London 2000), 47-114
