  • Sergeant William Grant was born in Gilboth, Leicestershire, and was by trade a Labourer, he enlisted on 11th October 1796. He was wounded in the right hand at Badajoz, and in the face at Talavera. He terminated his service on 20.7.1817, having completed 20 years and 299 days service.
