Lots 57-130 are the former contents of two shops, both of which ceased trading in 1988, one was M.Ayers of 31 Museum Street, London, the other The Old Drury of 187 Drury Lane, London. Most of the objects were acquired in 1970's and 1980's mainly through London auctions. Five Cypriot pottery vessels
Middle Bronze Age - Cypro-Archaic, circa 1800-475 B.C.
Including a juglet with cut-away spout, looped handle and three nodules around the neck area, with umber geometric decoration, Middle Bronze Age circa 1800-1650 B.C., 5¼in. (13cm.); a 'milk bowl' with wish-bone handle, in White-Slip Ware with worn decoration, Late Bronze Age circa 1475-1400 B.C., 6¾in. (17cm.) diam.; three Iron Age jugs, one with swollen body in Bichrome Ware, with trefoil lip and encircling band decoration, 7in. (18cm.) high, another in White Painted Ware with sparse decoration on the neck area with an encircling band around the base of the neck with groups of tassles, two 'eyes' on either side of the lip, 6in. (15cm.) high, the third vessel, 7¼in. (18.4cm.), all circa 850-475 B.C.; an East Greek skyphos with geometric decoration, 4in.
