The blade with two mekugi-ana, hira-zukuri with midare hamon (scratched), the tsuka wrapped in baleen with shibuichi fuchi kashira decorated with foliage and insects in soft metals and retaining one soft metal menuki of a comorant in a stream, and iron mokko-shaped tsuba decorated with a grasshopper, in its black ishime lacquered saya, the upper section of ribbed black lacquer and fitted with a shakudo nanako kodzuka decorated with a figure amidst flowers in soft metals
