A 17th Century needlework casket,
the hinged lid of flat form embroidered in coloured silks on a satin ground depicting a central fountain surmounted by a cherub, flanked by a woman playing a flute and her suitor, within a garden setting featuring birds, flowers, a deer and a camel with a castle and building in the distance, decorated with similar laid thread work to the lid side panels, the lid opening to reveal a series of compartments lined with pink satin, (incomplete), the hinged double front door panels embroidered depicting a man and woman within in a garden landscape featuring a squirrel, dog, leopard, lion, insects and flowers with further buildings in the distance, opening to reveal a locking panel and a series of nine drawers decorated with laid thread work and five further secret compartments, the side panels decorated with laid thread work depicting a castle, possibly the Tower of London, the back similarly decorated with geometric motifs, having silvered carrying handles, to four carved and silvered shaped feet, 25cm high x 29.5cm wide x 22cm deep, (the exterior discoloured, faded and some wear, the interior having minor discolouration and wear), within a later glazed case.

Payment Notices

Payment in advance: by cash, check with banker's card, credit card, bank draft or traveler's cheque.

Payment at collection: by credit or debit card.
