A Builder's Model of MV BARRISTER 1954
Built to a scale of 1:96. Solid hull with a single four blade brass propeller, painted black to the waterline and maroon below, with a wide pink boot top and buff decks. White gunwales, rails and superstructure with accommodation ladder suspended on starboard side. Painted draft marks at bow and stern with Plimsol line amidship. Fine details include anchors, cable and winches, cargo hatches with derricks and winches, ventilators. Central superstructure with open flying bridge and open bridge wings, fitted with binnacle, telegraphs, DF loop aerial and radio mast. Ship's boats on davits to either side of the funnel in Harrison livery. Raised poop deck with emergency steering position, wheel, binnacle and telegraph. Mounted on turned posts in a glazed mahogany showcase with a cream ivorine Builder's plate for William Doxford & Sons, Sunderland.
